Transloading

Transloading is the process of moving goods from one mode of transport to another.  It is most commonly employed when one mode cannot be used for the entire trip, as for instance when goods must be shipped internationally from the port of entry to another stateside destination. It also applies to bulk shipment via rail to truck to reach a final delivery point. Today, frac sand and other bulk goods utilize the process continually.
